Sizing and Weight Options
It is common to find mattresses in a range of sizes ranging from twin to king. Different people’s needs need the use of different sizes. Larger sizes tend to be more expensive and heavier than smaller ones.
Choosing a mattress size is a matter of personal preference for most individuals. There is a good chance you’ll need a larger mattress than someone who does not have children or pets in their bed.
Larger bodies may necessitate a larger bed for certain people. Those who roll over at night or prefer to spread out while sleeping prefer larger beds.
Mattress height and weight could influence your choice. Having a mattress that is easy to lift is important if you plan on moving or setting up your own bed in the future.

The DreamCloud mattress is very different from the Casper mattress. There are more possibilities with Casper, but the DreamCloud also has features that are tailored to specific customer requests. Your body shape and preferences, as well as your budget, can help you select which bed is best for you to sleep in.
There are two medium firm mattresses in this evaluation, the DreamCloud and the DreamCloud Premier, which both received a score of 6 out of 10. Because of their powerful support systems, people who weigh more than 230 pounds will probably feel more at ease on these mattresses than on any of the Casper models.
With a score of 5 out of 10 points, the Casper Nova Hybrid mattress is the softest in the bunch. As a result, those who weigh less than 130 pounds are the most likely to use it. The Casper Nova Hybrid does not provide enough support for heavier individuals.
Memory foam is found in all of the beds in this review, and it works effectively at relieving pressure. Those looking for the most “hug” should choose with the all-foam Casper Original or the softer Casper Nova Hybrid.
The cost of a mattress is an important consideration for many consumers. The original Casper mattress is the most affordable, making it ideal for those on a tight budget. It’s worth noting that both DreamCloud and DreamCloud Premier mattresses come with a lifetime warranty.
Construction and Materials Comparison
The Casper Original is an all-foam mattress, unlike most of the other mattresses reviewed here. Both styles of construction have their advantages and disadvantages, and as a result, they are frequently offered at varying price points.
All-foam mattresses have a foam comfort layer and a foam support core. High-density polyfoam is used for the structural core, while memory foam is used for comfort layers. All-foam mattresses can have two or more layers.
Coils are used as a support core, while other materials like foam are used for their comfort layers in hybrid mattresses. Hybrid mattresses are more expensive than all-foam mattresses, but they tend to last a lot longer as well. They don’t conform as well to the body, but they sleep cooler because of that.
Let’s take a closer look at the specifics of how the DreamCloud and Casper mattresses are constructed and what materials they use.
DreamCloud
Two mattresses are available from DreamCloud. Mattresses made with the DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid’s materials include:
- Infused memory foam comfort layer Polyfoam transition layer Individually encased pocketed pocketed coil support core Euro-top cashmere blend cover 1.5 inches of memory foam
- Base layer made of high-density polyfoam
The DreamCloud mattress has a medium firmness level, which makes it suitable for both heavier and lighter sleepers. People in these weight ranges shouldn’t sink too far into the mattress because of the memory foam layers, but the coil structure provides solid support. The DreamCloud may be excessively hard for those who weigh less than 130 pounds.
The DreamCloud’s hybrid structure ensures that the mattress maintains a consistent temperature. The pocketed coil layer allows sleepers to stay cool throughout the night. Memory foam’s heat-trapping characteristics are additionally countered by gel incorporated into the second layer of comfort.
This mattress is constructed from the following materials:
- With a Eurotop cashmere blend cover and a 2.5-inch memory foam comfort layer filled with gel
- Individually wrapped coil support cores in polyfoam transition layer
- Polyfoam base layer with high density
A look at the DreamCloud Premier’s design shows that it shares many similarities with the DreamCloud. Consequently, both mattresses have a somewhat firm sensation, which is the same for both. Memory foam is quilted into the cover of the DreamCloud Premier, though. More “hug-like” sleepers will like the plusher surface and added padding this mattress provides.
The DreamCloud Premier’s coil technology, like the DreamCloud’s, ensures that the mattress maintains a consistent temperature throughout the night. The mattress stays cooler due to the permeable cashmere cover. The DreamCloud Premier’s edge support is also another of its advantages. The majority of people will feel secure sleeping around the bed’s edges and won’t sink too far when getting in and out of bed.
Casper
Among Casper’s three mattress models are two construction possibilities. Detailed information about each of these four beds may be found here.
the following ingredients:
Airscape open-cell polyfoam layer 1.5′′ 3-zone memory foam layer 7′′ polyfoam support core
The Casper Original mattress is an 11-inch thick all-foam mattress. Known simply as “The Casper,” it’s the company’s flagship mattress. This mattress has a medium firmness rating of 5 out of 10.
However, the Casper Original mattress is one of the brand’s most affordable, but with some advanced features. An additional layer of support is provided by a zoned memory foam comfort layer. Spinal alignment and pressure alleviation are achieved as a result.
Original Hybrid is composed of:
Read more : Full vs. Queen Mattress Comparison
Layers of comfort: 1.5″ Airscape open-cell polyfoam, 2″ 3-zone memory foam, and 7″ pocketed coils
Only the support core of the Casper Original Hybrid differs from the Casper Original in its construction. With a density of medium-firmness, it’s also 11 inches thick. In place of polyfoam, the Hybrid mattress has coils encased in small pockets.
Casper Original mattresses feel comparable, but the switch from polyfoam to pocketed coils makes a noticeable difference. The airflow through the coil layer of the Casper Original Hybrid promotes a more comfortable night’s sleep. The firm coils also boost the bed’s edge support, which can expand the bed’s useful surface area.
It is made up of the following:
- Polyurethane comfort layer: 1″ Airscape open-cell poly foam
- A 3-zone 1.5-inch speaker system Comfort layer: Airscape open-cell polyfoam
- a 2′′ transitional memory foam core supported on 7′′ pocketed coils
The Casper Nova Hybrid is comparable to the Casper Original Hybrid in terms of features. Both beds have the same 7-inch pocketed coil support core and top comfort layer.
There is an additional layer of comfort with the Casper Nova Hybrid, however. For a medium firmness level, or 5 out of 10, this layer can be added. Therefore, the Nova Hybrid is better suited for folks under 230 pounds, but it’s too soft for those who weigh more than that.
Of addition, the transitional layers in the two mattresses are different, as are the zones of memory foam. The Casper Original’s transitional layer has three zones, whereas the Nova Hybrid’s transitional layer has seven zones. The Nova Hybrid mattress has a higher rating among sleepers because of its additional zones and higher-quality components.
The Casper Wave Hybrid mattress is made up of the following components:
- 1.5′′ Airscape open-cell latex comfort layer 1.5′′ Airscape 3-zone memory foam comfort layer
- Zoned polyfoam with gel pods of 1.5 inches in diameter
- Pocketed coils of 7 inches in diameter support the core.
Casper’s most sumptuous mattress is the Casper Wave Hybrid. Consequently, it has a greater price. The 7-inch pocketed coil support core and perforated AirScape comfort layers are shared by this bed with the Casper Original Hybrid and Casper Nova Hybrid.
Casper’s Wave hybrid mattress has two zoned layers to alleviate pressure rather than just one. AirScape latex is also used as a topcoat. These modifications aid in the Wave’s ability to maintain a constant temperature throughout the night, ensuring that users remain comfortable.
In-Depth Ratings
Before purchasing a mattress, there are a number of things to consider. Don’t limit your evaluation to factors like cost and firmness. It’s possible to find a mattress that’s both reasonable and comfortable, but that doesn’t match your demands.
As an alternative, consider the durability, motion isolation, temperature neutrality and pressure relief of each mattress before making a final decision. This section explains these elements in detail, so you know exactly what to look for when purchasing a mattress.
- Durability: The longevity and performance of a mattress are measured by its durability. A mattress’s durability is mostly determined by the quality of its construction and the materials it is made of. However, there are some mattresses that can survive for decades rather than only six years. In the long term, a more durable mattress will save you money because you won’t have to buy a new one as often.
- Weight and motion don’t transfer across the surface of a well-isolated mattress when motion is reduced. People who share a bed with a partner, child, or animal need motion isolation the most. Sleepers who share a bed with someone else may be disturbed by their partner’s movements if their mattress does not isolate motion well. High-quality memory foam is the best at isolating movement among mattress materials.
- Having sex on a mattress can be made easier or more difficult depending on the materials used in its design. When sex is involved, people tend to sink into mattresses that are too conforming, which might make it difficult for them to move. Movement is encouraged with a springy, responsive mattress. A mattress’s sex appeal is also influenced by its edge support. People can use the full bed surface without fear of rolling off if the bed has firm edges.
- In order to avoid sweaty awakenings during the night, a bed must maintain temperature neutrality. Beds that allow for a lot of airflow, such as those made up of innerspring and pocketed coil layers, are the most temperature neutral. Memory foam is the most heat-retaining mattress material. In order to combat this, manufacturers often add holes and cooling gel to foam layers.
- As you sleep, your weight is well distributed, so you avoid developing pressure points in any one area of your body. For those who suffer from pain or discomfort while sleeping, pressure alleviation is critical. By giving additional support to the body’s heaviest places, transitional and zonal layers alleviate pressure. The neck, shoulders, and hips are the most common places to feel pressure.
- Manufacturers release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) as off-gassing occurs. During the process of off-gassing, mattresses generate a strong chemical smell. The stench of a new mattress can take a few days to dissipate after packaging. Most people don’t notice the off-gassing stench, but some are sensitive to it. In general, all-foam mattresses emit the greatest off-gassing, while innerspring mattresses emit the least off-gassing.
- Ease of Movement: Mattress materials and construction affect how easy it is to move over the mattress’s surface. Memory foam with a high degree of conformity “hugs” the body. In spite of its pressure-relieving benefits, this conforming feature is a movement-inhibitor. Mattresses that are more sensitive and springy are more likely to encourage movement. You may find it difficult to roll over, get out of bed, or engage in sex on the mattress if you find it difficult to move.
- Support for Edge. The firmness or weakness of a mattress’s edges is referred to as edge support. Mattresses with sturdy edges provide support even when a person rests close to or sits on the edge of their mattress. Under heavy weight, the mattress’s edges fold and buckle, causing the bed to be unstable. The mattress can be used to its greatest extent without fear of rolling off the edges.

Prices and Sizing
The price of a mattress can range from $500 to over $3,000, depending on the retailer. You may question why the prices are so different.
A mattress’s pricing is determined primarily by its materials and structure, but there are exceptions. Generally speaking, all-foam mattresses are the least expensive option. On average, hybrid mattresses that include both foam and pocketed coils are more expensive than all-foam mattresses. The most expensive mattress kind is latex.
The prices of mattresses sold directly to consumers online tend to be lower than the prices of beds sold in brick-and-mortar mattress and department stores by traditional mattress manufacturers. Because they don’t have to pay for a physical showroom or employ a sales force, mattress merchants selling online can save money. As a result, you will benefit from the savings.
Keep in mind that you’ll be spending a lot of time in your bed for years to come while you’re shopping for a mattress. Mattress comfort and support are more vital than saving money in the long run.
In terms of price, DreamCloud and Casper mattresses are vastly different. To help you choose the right mattress, it’s important to know why these discrepancies exist.

The DreamCloud and DreamCloud Premier mattresses are both made by DreamCloud. The more expensive model is more expensive than the usual hybrid, although both are still reasonably priced. The Original Hybrid from Casper is the most comparable in terms of construction and price to the DreamCloud. However, the Casper Hybrid mattress costs less than the DreamCloud.
Most consumers should let firmness level rather than price determine their choice when picking between these two mattresses. Those who weigh more than 230 pounds aren’t well served by the Casper Hybrid, but those who weigh less than 230 pounds are. Those who weigh more above 230 pounds are best served by the DreamCloud and DreamCloud Premier, which are both medium firm.
The Casper Original is the cheapest of the Casper mattresses because it is an all-foam mattress. A foam mattress that conforms well to the body is popular with those on a budget.
Two luxury hybrid choices, the Casper Nova Hybrid and Casper Wave Hybrid, both have more advanced zoned technology. As a result of its construction, the Wave Hybrid is much more expensive. Shoppers should bear in mind, however, that these beds come in a variety of firmness degrees. For those who prefer a softer mattress, go no further than the Nova Hybrid.

Similarities Between The DreamCloud And Casper?
There are a few elements that all of these beds have in common, despite the fact that they are built and feel very differently.
- Both mattresses are supportive and comfortable.
- The comfort layers of both mattresses are made up of memory foam.
- Free shipping, large sleep samples, and excellent customer support are all features that both firms provide.
Key Differences Between The DreamCloud And Casper?
As expected, the DreamCloud and Casper have a lot more in common than they have differences. What you need to know in a jiffy:
- These two beds have a vastly different construction: The Casper is an all-foam mattress, while the DreamCloud is a hybrid.
- The DreamCloud mattress has an innerspring sensation, whilst the Casper mattress has a well-balanced foam feeling.
- Compared to the Casper, DreamCloud is a little more firm.
- At full pricing, the Casper is less expensive than the DreamCloud.
Firmness And Feel Differences
Choosing the right firmness and feel is essential when purchasing a mattress. Your favorite sleeping position(s) and other sleep requirements can be determined by looking at these aspects of a bed. Here are the firmness and feel ratings for the DreamCloud and Casper mattresses, without further ado!
How Firm Are The DreamCloud And Casper Mattresses?
In terms of firmness, we gave the DreamCloud a score of 7.5 out of 10. According to the industry benchmark for average firmness, the DreamCloud is significantly firmer than most other mattresses. The Casper, on the other hand, received a 7/10 from us. In other words, it’s harder than normal, yet it’s softer than the DreamCloud.
Keep in mind that stiffness is rather arbitrary. In terms of firmness, these mattresses may be more or less firm depending on your weight and personal preferences.
Sleeping On The DreamCloud And Casper Mattresses
Let’s get down to the nitty-gritty of how these mattresses truly feel to sleep on:
DreamCloud
For those who prefer to sleep on their backs, the DreamCloud mattress is ideal. A good amount of lumbar support was provided, and our spines remained straight.
If you sleep on your side, the DreamCloud is not the best mattress for you. This position was quite taxing on our shoulders and hips, and we were unable to move freely.
However, our heavier-weight reviewer found the DreamCloud to be a little too soft for stomach sleeping. While lying on the mattress, his hips bowed inward, causing his spine to be out of alignment. However, stomach sleepers who are light or medium-heavy will benefit from this mattress.
Casper
While lying on our backs on the Casper, we had just the right amount of support. Although our hips dipped into the mattress for some pressure relief, the lumbar support was still strong. This is because the mattress is firmer under the lumbar region thanks to Zoned Support.
While lying on our sides on the Casper, we felt a little pressure on our shoulders and hips, which wasn’t terrible but wasn’t wonderful either. Pressure alleviation may be better for those who are less in weight.
We were able to stomach sleep on this mattress because of the Casper’s Zoned Support. You may wish to consider a firmer mattress for stomach sleepers if you sleep on your stomach all night.
What Do The DreamCloud And Casper Mattresses Feel Like?
A hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud has an innerspring feel to it most of the time. It contains a layer of memory foam near the top, but it doesn’t have the slow-moving feel that is commonly associated with memory foam.. You can easily move about on this mattress because it’s responsive and springy.
In terms of foam feel, the Casper is well-balanced and responsive. It’s astonishing how bouncy this all-foam mattress actually is. On top of the bed, the bounce makes it easier to shift positions.
Average Weight Sleepers – 130lbs – 230lbs
The DreamCloud may be too firm for back sleepers under 130 pounds, but those over 230 pounds will likely find it to be supportive and comfortable. In the case of average-weight side sleepers, the DreamCloud mattress is likely to cause discomfort in the shoulders and hips. In this position, stomach sleepers of average weight can expect adequate support.
The Casper mattress is a good choice for back sleepers of average weight, as it provides both pressure relief and spinal support. For side sleepers who like a firmer mattress, this mattress may be enough, but those who prefer a softer mattress may wish to look for a specific mattress for side sleeping. The Casper may work for some people who sleep on their stomachs, but the DreamCloud is a superior option for those who like this posture.
Heavyweight Sleepers – Over 230lbs
The DreamCloud is a good option for back sleepers who weigh less than 300 pounds, but heavier individuals will need to look elsewhere. Side sleepers who weigh more than 300 pounds will need a more supportive mattress than the DreamCloud, which may be too firm for them. There is a similar pattern when it comes to stomach sleepers: Those who weigh less than 300 pounds can get appropriate support, but those who are heavier will need a more supportive mattress.
Back sleepers who weigh less than 300 pounds should enjoy the Casper’s combination of pressure reduction and spinal support. It’s best for heavier people to seek for a firmer mattress. Those who weigh less than 300 pounds may be able to get appropriate pressure relief from the Casper, but those who weigh more than that will almost certainly need greater support. Heavyweight stomach sleepers may not find the Casper comfortable enough.
Lightweight Sleepers – Under 130lbs
The DreamCloud is a great mattress for back sleepers, but it may be too hard for heavier people. There are some side sleepers who appreciate the DreamCloud’s firmness, but most side sleepers will find it too firm. Even light stomach sleepers can find adequate support with the DreamCloud.
Lightweight back sleepers will find the Casper comfortable and supportive on this mattress. This mattress can provide acceptable pressure relief for side sleepers who are light in weight, but those who like a more luxurious experience may want to explore elsewhere. Lightweight stomach sleepers should be well-served by the Casper’s spinal support.
DreamCloud And Casper Performance Differences
You can tell a lot about a mattress based on its firmness and feel, but they aren’t all there is to it. Important performance elements must also be considered when getting to know a bed on a deeper level. When it comes to temperature regulation, motion transfer, and edge support we compared the DreamCloud and Casper mattresses. Let’s have a look at how they compare!
DreamCloud vs WinkBed and Casper vs Purple are just two of the many mattress comparisons you can find on our website.
Sleeping Hot Or Cold
Here, the DreamCloud is victorious. Unlike the all-foam Casper, the coils in the support layer of this mattress allow for a lot of airflow.
Motion Transfer
When it comes to absorbing motion and limiting movement across a mattress’ surface, Casper’s dense memory foam comfort layer should give it an edge. Couples may find this to be an ideal mattress for them. In order to reduce motion transmission, the DreamCloud combines a springy mattress with coils.
Edge Support
Both the Casper and the DreamCloud have good edge support. The DreamCloud’s robust coils may make it a little more supportive.
Durability
The game has been declared a tie. Both the DreamCloud and Casper mattresses are built of high-quality materials, and they should last between seven and ten years, respectively (assuming proper care).
Off-Gassing
First impressions are mixed, with some off-gassing coming from both our DreamCloud and Casper devices. After 48 hours, this should go away.
Noise
Both mattresses did not make any noticeable noise. It’s probable that the DreamCloud’s coils will begin to squeak after a while because of its construction.
Sex
It’s not uncommon for folks who are looking for a mattress for sex to be concerned about the ease with which they can shift positions. Because the DreamCloud is more responsive and bouncier than the Casper, it should be the winner here. You and your partner should be able to move freely on top of this mattress.
