We can safely assume that Tempur-Pedic and Loom & Leaf by Saatva are household names when it comes to bed linens and comforters.
Saatva, a direct-to-consumer mattress firm, has acquired attention because it does not compress its mattresses before shipping them to clients. The Loom & Leaf by Saatva, an all-foam mattress, features a variety of cooling and pressure-relieving foams.
You are reading: Loom And Leaf vs. Tempurpedic Mattress Comparison
Mattress company Tempur-Pedic has a lengthy history and is widely acknowledged as the inventor of memory foam mattresses. All-foam and hybrid mattresses feature Tempur-patented Pedic’s memory foam, which is designed to cradle the body and alleviate pressure points.
You may be wondering what distinguishes the Loom and Leaf mattress from the Tempur-Pedic mattress. We’ll compare and contrast the two businesses so you can make an educated choice.
A Brief Introduction To Loom & Leaf vs TempurPedic
You already know that a memory foam mattress is what you want, and you’re prepared to spend over $1,000 to get a high-end model. No matter how hard you try, you just can’t seem to decide on a mattress. There are two popular memory foam mattresses created in the United States, Loom & Leaf and TempurPedic, however TempurPedic is often more than double the price of Loom & Leaf. We’ll get to it in a moment, but first, let’s take a quick look at each of the companies involved.
Along with the Saatva flagship mattress and Zenhaven, the Saatva brand’s Loom & Leaf model is one of three. Saatva is a well-known name in the bed industry because of its reputation for high-quality products at reasonable rates. In light of how soft and luxurious the Loom & Leaf mattress is compared to the majority of memory foam beds sold online, we think it’s a terrific deal.
As one of the most well-known manufacturers of memory foam mattresses, chances are you’ve heard of TempurPedic. You may buy their products online, at Mattress Land or Ashley Furniture, or even at your local store. TempurPedic is a memory foam bed at the top of its class, and it’s the most expensive mattress on the market. The TEMPUR-Adapt Series is a new line of TempurPedic mattresses designed to compete with the rapidly rising number of online mattress retailers.

- Because of the Loom & Leaf’s deeper compression support, it’s a good option for heavier individuals (over 250 lbs).
- Both the Loom & Leaf and the TEMPUR-Cloud are available in two firmness levels.
- Delivery of the TEMPUR-Cloud mattress in compressed form will be provided. Delivered uncompressed, the Loom & Leaf will arrive.
Which is Better for You?
Before we get into the specifics, I’d want to give you a quick rundown of which of these high-end mattresses would be the best fit for your needs going forward.
- It’s possible that both of these mattresses would be suitable for back sleepers who want a memory foam sensation.
- The Loom & Leaf is the greatest option for people who weigh more than 250 pounds and want to sleep on their stomachs. Deep compression support is provided by a thick layer of memory foam, which allows heavier people to obtain the body contouring they require without sinking too far into the mattress.
- Whether you prefer to sleep on your back or on your side, both mattresses could be suitable. In terms of body shaping and pressure alleviation, they are both excellent.
- The Loom & Leaf mattress is best for stomach sleepers who like a firmer mattress. Your shoulders and hips will be aligned thanks to the firmness of the material. We recommend checking out one of our finest innerspring mattresses alternatives if you’re a stomach sleeper who is on the heavier side.
- Both of these beds aren’t responsive enough if you’re a hybrid sleeper. Our top mattresses for mixed sleepers are a good place to start looking.
The TEMPUR-Cloud mattress is the best option if you sleep overheated. The Loom & Leaf mattress is not as cool as this one.
The Foams Inside Loom & Leaf
In order to understand what you’ll be sleeping on when you purchase from Loom & Leaf mattress, we’ll break it down layer by layer. Dense poly foam, which is a fancy term for “neutral foam,” is the first layer of the mattress. However, it’s referred to as “Support Foam” in this image.
As a transition layer between the dense support foam and the soft memory foam, there is a 2-inch thick “transition loft pad.” “Visco-elastic memory foam” is basically a fancy name for the memory foam above the loft pad. Support and deep pressure alleviation are provided by this layer for those aches and pains.
This is the layer that your body will rest on the most when you buy a Loom & Leaf mattress. Since Loom & Leaf is comprised of 4lb gel-swirl memory foam, it has a memory foam feel. The final slab is 2″ thick.
A cooling gel layer is sandwiched between the top layer of memory foam and the cover to assist regulate temperature.
Burn patients are treated with this material, which is why you’ll find it in the middle third of your mattress where your body heat is mostly trapped for maximum comfort. People who sleep on a memory foam mattress, which is known to sleep hotter than other mattress materials, can benefit from this feature.
Loom & Leaf and TEMPUR-Cloud Mattress Feel Comparison
Having learned more about each bed, I’ll go into greater detail about how each one feels. It’s important to keep in mind that how you feel is a matter of personal preference. My coworkers and I tested these beds together, thus the average of our results may be found below.
Loom & Leaf
Relaxed firm and firm models are available from Loom & Leaf. A 6 on the mattress firmness scale, the relaxed firm model is a medium-soft bed. As a point of reference, 6.5 out of 10 is the industry standard for medium firmness. Its firm mattress is rated an 8 on the firmness scale, making it one of the firmer options available.
Both versions have excellent sinkage and body-contouring capabilities. This mattress makes you feel like you’re “in” rather than “on” it. For side and back sleepers, I’d recommend the relaxed firm model, which has a more comfortable feel.
It’s better for stomach sleepers and those who are heavier to use the firm model. Those who weigh more may find the Loom & Leaf’s firm model to have a medium-firm memory foam feel, thanks to its thick foams. For people who tend to sink right through most memory foam mattresses, this is a fantastic bonus.
TEMPUR-Cloud
The TEMPUR-Cloud mattress, like the Loom & Leaf, is rated at 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale. If you sleep on your side or back, this softer feel is ideal. The foams in the TEMPUR-Cloud mattress conformed to my lower back, providing support and relief in the lumbar region.
This mattress, like the Loom & Leaf, does an excellent job of reducing motion transmission. You won’t have to worry about being bothered by a snoring partner on either of these beds. In my opinion, the TEMPUR-Cloud is better for couples than the Loom & Leaf when it comes to purchasing a bed for two.
Because it sleeps cool, the TEMPUR-CLoud may be more suited for couples. For those who prefer their mattresses to be breathable and cool, this mattress is an excellent choice over more classic memory foam mattresses like Loom and Leaf. If you are a hot sleeper or share body heat with your partner, this mattress might be the best option for you.
Sizing Options
Many factors, including your budget, body size, personal preference, and whether or not you have a sleeping companion, must be taken into account when determining the correct mattress size for your needs. An adult, on the other hand, might feel cramped in a twin mattress that’s meant for a youngster. However, larger sizes offer more space and can accommodate couples or pets, but they also carry a higher price tag.
If you choose a higher-profile mattress, you’ll likely get a more substantial support core or a thicker comfort layer. Extra-thick mattresses, on the other hand, necessitate fitted sheets with larger pockets, which may not be an option for those with space constraints. Be sure to factor in the height of the foundation when determining how easy it is to get in and out of bed if you find that your mattress is too low or too high.
The weight of a mattress is more of a convenience issue than a sleep issue, except that a heavier mattress tends to move less on a bed frame. It’s true that heavier mattresses are more difficult to transport, but this shouldn’t be an issue unless you’re constantly on the go.

All six conventional mattress sizes, as well as split king and split California king, are available from Saatva in the Loom & Leaf. Split king mattresses are great for couples with differing sleep preferences, as each side can be customized to suit their individual needs. In order to accommodate those who are taller, a split California king mattress has an extra two inches of length.
The six standard Tempur-Pedic mattress sizes are available on the majority of their products. Split king and split California king sizes are available for most models, although some styles do not come in conventional twin or full sizes.

Because most mattresses have a height of 10 to 15 inches, the Loom & Leaf’s 12-inch profile is regarded to be on the standard side. Height options for Tempur-Pedic mattresses are 10 to 13 inches wide. LuxeAdapt, TEMPUR-LUXEbreeze, and Adapt Hybrid have the lowest profiles, while the TEMPUR-Cloud, the TEMPUR-Adapt, and Adapt Hybrid are all in the middle of the pack.
The Loom & Leaf and Tempur-Pedic mattresses are a little heavier than the usual foam mattress since they are manufactured with more dense foams. There are a few reasons why hybrid mattresses tend to be among the heaviest on the market: they blend steel coils with memory foam.
Construction and Materials Comparison
Your top priorities might help you narrow down your search for the best mattress for you. In contrast to Loom & Leaf, Tempur-Pedic offers both foam and hybrid mattresses.
Pressure-relieving foams are commonly used in the comfort part of all-foam mattresses, whereas high-density foams are used in the support core. In general, foam models isolate motion well, which means that movement on one side of the bed isn’t likely to be felt on the other.
Mattresses that combine the advantages of both foam and coil systems are known as hybrids. One or more cushioning layers are included in the comfort mechanism of these mattresses. Adding bounce to the comfort portion, the coil-based core adds to the overall bounce.
Memory foam, which is known for holding heat, is used extensively in the Loom & Leaf and all Tempur-Pedic beds. To counteract this, Saatva and Tempur-Pedic use gel infusions and phase change materials (PCM). All-foam mattresses tend to be less breathable, therefore hybrid mattresses are more effective at regulating temperature.
Loom & Leaf
Loom & Leaf Mattress by Saatva has various pressure-relieving foam layers and is covered in an organic cotton quilted cover with a natural thistle flame barrier. The five-layer variant is available in medium and firm strength. On the hardness scale, these fall somewhere between a 6 and an 8.
The 3-inch foam comfort system has two separate layers. Gel-infused memory foam with vented holes is utilized in the first layer to help keep the mattress cool and comfortable. Support for the lumbar region is provided with an additional layer of gel and phase change material. Memory foam is used in the second layer to help cradle the body and alleviate stress spots. In the firm model, this part is more stable and resilient.
Stability and spine support are provided by an 8-inch high-density polyfoam core that is split into two layers.
Tempur-Pedic
Tempur-memory Pedic’s foam mattresses are available in both all-foam and hybrid forms.
TEMPUR-Cloud
The TEMPUR-Cloud is Tempur-Pedic’s only mattress in a box model. This 10-inch foam mattress has a medium (5) firmness level and features a simple design with three layers in total:
- TEMPUR COMFORT memory foam
- TEMPUR SUPPORT memory foam
- Polyfoam base
The cover is made of a breathable and stretchy material that is designed to flex in synchrony with the memory foam.
The TEMPUR-Adapt Series
There are two layers of TEMPUR-ES memory foam in the TEMPUR-Adapt Mattress that work together to provide pressure point relief. The all-foam and hybrid variants of this mattress are both readily accessible. The knit covers on both models are cool to the touch. Polyfoam is used in the all-support foam’s core, while a pocketed coil system with reinforced foam edges is used in the hybrid.
- Comfort layer of TEMPUR-ES memory foam
- High-density polyfoam support core with TEMPUR transitional memory foam layer (all-foam)
- High-density polyfoam encases pocketed coils (hybrid)
In spite of their similarity, the all-foam and hybrid types function slightly differently due to the materials used in their construction. When it comes to motion isolation, the foam model outperforms all others. To improve edge support, the coils are reinforced around the perimeter with a high-density polyfoam that provides better temperature regulation.
The TEMPUR-ProAdapt Series
The ProAdapt’s SmartClimate cover, which is detachable and machine washable, is designed to reduce heat buildup. Additional pressure relief is provided by the ProAdapt’s TEMPUR-APR memory foam. Airflow is improved thanks to the convolutions of the high-density polyfoam support core. The ProAdapt line, like the TEMPUR-Adapt, is available in all-foam and hybrid models:
- SmartClimate cover with an outer layer that can be removed
- Comfort layer of TEMPUR-ES memory foam
- Transition layer of TEMPUR-APR memory foam
- Polyfoam core with a high density of twisted polyfoam (all-foam)
- High-density polyfoam encases pocketed coils (hybrid)
Unlike the hybrid, the all-foam is offered in three different levels of softness: gentle (3), medium (5), and firm (7). (5).
The TEMPUR-LuxeAdapt Mattress
There are two hardness options for this all-foam model: mild (3) and firm (7). The SmartClimate cooling cover and TEMPUR-ES memory foam found in the ProAdapt Series are also found in the TEMPUR-LuxeAdapt.
- Comfort layer of TEMPUR-ES memory foam
- Layer of transition TEMPUR-APR+
- Support core made of high-density convoluted polyfoam
The LuxeAdapt’s transitional layer is made up of TEMPUR-APR+ memory foam. Deep compression and pressure relief are the goals of this foam, which has a small cell structure.
The TEMPUR-LUXEbreeze Mattress
With its advanced cooling technology, the TEMPUR-LUXEbreeze Mattress is one of Tempur-most Pedic’s advanced offerings. Advanced cooling is provided by a PureCool+ phase change material layer underneath the SmartClimate polyester shell. LuxEbreeze also features a TEMPUR-CM+ memory foam layer, as well as an airy transitional layer to help keep the mattress cool:
- SmartClimate cover with PCM can be removed.
- Comfy layers of memory foam from TEMPUR-CM+
- Transitional layer of TEMPUR-APR ventilated memory foam
- Support core made of high-density convoluted polyfoam
There are two different hardness levels available for this all-foam mattress: mild (3) and firm (4) (7).
The TEMPUR-PRObreeze Series
The TEMPUR-PRObreeze Series is a solid choice for hot sleepers, despite its lack of sophistication. PureCool+ phase change material is used to disperse excess heat in the PRObreeze, as it is in the LUXEbreeze.
- With a TEMPUR-CM+ memory foam comfort layer that can be removed from the SmartClimate cover
- High-density convoluted polyfoam support core with memory foam transition layer (all-foam)
- High-density polyfoam encases pocketed coils (hybrid)
The medium (5) firmness of this mattress is offered in both an all-foam and a hybrid model.

The price of a mattress can vary widely, as you may have discovered while doing your research. A mattress’s materials, quality, kind, and size all play a role in its cost. Bigger mattresses are more expensive, while smaller ones like twin or full are less expensive. Organic materials, cooling systems, and new construction methods can also raise the cost.
A queen-sized mattress can cost as little as $250 or as much as $3,000, depending on your budget. These two mattresses are considered premium models since they are built of high-quality materials. The prices they charge reflect this.

In comparison to the numerous Tempur-Pedic mattresses, the Loom & Leaf mattress is more affordable. The TEMPUR-Cloud is Tempur-most Pedic’s affordable mattress, while the LUXEbreeze is the most expensive because of its additional cooling technology.
All-foam mattresses tend to be less expensive than hybrids, on average. When it comes to Tempur-mattresses, Pedic’s all-foam and hybrid models are priced the same. Hybrid mattresses may be a draw for those looking for a good deal.
Price-wise, the Loom & Leaf mattress falls somewhat in the middle of the pack when compared to similar beds. One of the best luxury mattress brands is Tempur-Pedic, which was the first to incorporate memory foam in mattresses. As a result, most Tempur-Pedic mattresses are more expensive than the average. Both companies offer complimentary White Glove delivery, a service that often costs a lot of money.
Mattress Performance Ratings
A mattress’ performance and overall comfort are influenced by a variety of elements, including temperature regulation, motion isolation, and pressure relief. Some features may be more significant to you than others, depending on your body shape and sleeping habits. We’ll give you a rundown of the most important characteristics to look for when purchasing a new mattress.
Durability
Quality is directly tied to the mattress’s predicted lifespan. Sagging is less likely to occur in mattresses with thicker support cores and higher-quality foams. Despite the increased initial cost, a mattress that is more durable will last longer and so save you money in the long run.
Motion Isolation
For couples, motion isolation refers to a mattress’s capacity to reduce the transfer of motion from one side of the bed to the other. Memory foam is an excellent choice for motion isolation since it adapts to the motions of the sleeper without enabling vibrations to spread throughout the mattress.
Sex
When it comes to sex, couples often prefer hybrid mattresses because they offer the right amount of traction and bounce. Edge support and increased ventilation help minimize overheating in hybrids. Hybrid mattresses, on the other hand, are more prone to squeaks and creaks, so an all-foam mattress would be a better choice for couples who like to keep their sleeping habits private.
Temperature Neutrality
In general, some materials are naturally better than others at dissipating heat. Those mattresses with innerspring or hybrid coils, which allow air to circulate among the coils, tend to be the best in this category. As a result of traditional memory foam’s tendency to retain heat, numerous companies have turned to gel infusions or phase change materials to help regulate temperature.
Pressure Relief
In order to avoid developing pressure spots in the places where the weight is concentrated, most people choose a mattress with at least one layer of padding. Memory foam, latex, and cotton batting can help ease pressure by providing some plushness. Additionally, the mattress’s support core must be firm enough to maintain the spine aligned and prevent pressure building due to a lack of support, which is a significant consideration.
Off-gassing
Off-gassing is a term used to describe the smell of new foam mattresses. Organic molecules (VOCs) emitted into the atmosphere cause the odor. The smell of off-gassing can be annoying to some sleepers, but it isn’t considered harmful and normally disappears within a few hours or a few days at the most.
Ease of Movement
People have different preferences when it comes to foregoing bounce in order to get deeper cradling as they sleep. Memory foam and other close-fitting materials may make it more difficult to change positions if you are a mixed sleeper. A coiled support core prevents sleepers from sinking too far into the mattress in hybrid mattresses.
Edge Support
For those who share a bed, a mattress’ perimeter strength is critical. For those who like to sit or sleep near the bed’s edge, a mattress with strong edge support might help prevent the sensation of rolling off. A strengthened polyfoam enclosure or stronger coils around the edges can help alleviate this issue.

UPS Ground delivers the TEMPUR-Cloud mattress-in-a-box. Within the 48 contiguous states, shipping is free.
Sleep Trial and Returns
Because even the most well-researched mattress purchase isn’t guaranteed to fit your sleeping type, a company’s sleep trial and return policy shouldn’t be neglected As a consumer, you have the option to try out the mattress for a few months before making a final decision. Certain brands demand you to wear the product for a certain amount of time before you can return it.
Depending on the company, customers may have to pay for return shipping or handling expenses, while other companies would take care of it for them. Make careful you thoroughly review the company’s return policy, as there may be a number of exceptions or disclaimers.
Loom & Leaf Sleep Trial and Return Policy
On the day of delivery, Loom & Leaf offers a 180-night sleep trial. Saatva will pick up the mattress and refund the consumer, minus a $99 delivery fee, if the customer decides to return it during the sleep trial period. For a $99 cost, the mattress can be swapped for a different model.
Tempur-Pedic Sleep Trial and Return Policy

Tempur-Pedic may recommend an alternative model based on your input and preferences if you are dissatisfied with your purchase. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer who decides to return a product during the trial period.
Warranty
Mattress guarantees safeguard customers from potential manufacturing or material flaws, such as permanent body indentations. Damage resulting from wrong use or regular wear and tear is typically not covered by warranties. It’s usually a good idea to read the fine print on a warranty to see what the company’s rules are on evaluation, repairs, and replacement.
Loom & Leaf Mattress Warranty
A 15-year limited guarantee protects the Loom & Leaf from faults, including body impressions that are more than an inch thick. Within the first two years of the warranty, Saatva will replace your mattress at no additional cost. Additionally, Saatva charges a $99 transportation fee for mattress repairs every time they come to your home.
Fairness Replacement Option is available to consumers who purchase a new mattress at a discounted rate in the third year of their contract. If you’ve had the mattress for a long time, you’ll be eligible for a larger discount.
Tempur-Pedic Mattress Warranty
Mattresses from Tempur-Pedic come with a 10-year limited guarantee. The consumer is responsible for any shipping costs associated with having a damaged mattress repaired or replaced by the company at its discretion. Customers are advised by Tempur-Pedic to save their original receipts in case they need to make a claim.
If the zipper breaks or if there are obvious indentations at least.75 inches deep, the warranty will cover it. Foundations that support mattresses are required for the guarantee to apply.
